Northwest Family Physicians is able to offer a large range of laboratory services. Almost all blood tests can be drawn at our office (there are a few rare exceptions). If you have blood work ordered by a specialist, bring in your order and we will send the results to your specialist. We also perform rapid strep tests and urine pregnancy tests by patient request. These test results are done while you wait. We perform many tests in our own clinic and the other tests are usually send to North Memorial for analysis. Most test results are available in one week; however a few very specialized tests may take longer. What do you need to do to have lab? Make a lab appointment (we need to have your chart available). Have an order or recommendation from your doctor (except strep tests and pregnancy tests) If you are having a cholesterol check, make sure you are fasting (nothing to eat or drink except water) for 12 hours.
