| The Crystal office of Northwest Family Physicians offers screening mammograms at various hours, including some evening and Saturday hours.
Mammograms are recommended for all women yearly from age 40 to 74. You can call the appointment desk directly to schedule this appointment. Many women try to combine their mammogram appointment with an office exam. Medicare covers mammograms yearly.
Our mammography technician and equipment are certified by the U.S. Department of Health Services, and they are read by Minneapolis Radiology based at North Memorial. If there are any questions about the mammogram reading, additional views or an ultrasound may be ordered and these are usually scheduled at North Memorial or West Health as they need a radiologist to supervise these test.
